Hibiscus!

This is all I did last night, but I think it's enough! How amazing they came, I'm very happy with them :)

More pieces coming together!

This past week we finalized the centerpieces. I have also been working on Cricutting monograms for my friend's wedding favors. And I played around with some fondant for my favors as well. Little shells and starfish. Today I will try out the fondant hibiscus' before stamping the fronts on the invitations :) What fun! ...

Early Start

Last night I began hand stamping the envelopes. I'm still waiting on a stamp set to arrive but I finalized the hibiscus in the corner and the tropical flower on the back so I began stamping those. I did the flowers on the back this morning to make some progress with the envelopes. I hope to begin stamping the front of the invitations tonight so that I can get them ready to be mailed by next week.

Finally! One project completed!

Finally I get some closure! The favor tags are complete! Now after the invitations is the flowers for the favors which are adorable! On the off chance someone who is coming reads this, I don't want to give away the secret entirely! Some things have to be left surprises! But they're adorable!
Today's challenge is waiting for stamps to come in the mail to finalize invitations and also then getting addresses together so we might be able to begin addressing the envelopes :)

Yesterday's project was chill since I decided to take a tiny break from the invitations for the afternoon and move on to Thank You Tags. I used a silver card stock and a double sided card stock with a solid blue on one side and a shimmer pattern on the other. And that's about all I did yesterday after work. I attempted to finish adding the ribbons to the embossed strip but they are being uncooperative, so when I'm ready to attach the strips to the invitation is when I will do the ribbons also. Tonight I anticipate gluing the two Thank You tags together and stringing a ribbon through the center so they just have to be tied when ready :)

Introductions..

So...this is my blog! Welcome! I'm Denise and I'm engaged and this is to document my DIY wedding! I got some inspiration from others and I'm all about giving back :) This past weekend my friend Mo had her bridal shower...me and my sister made the cake :) Which is the cake that you see here. I made the flowers :) The fondant ones and my sister frosted it and piped the borders and did the royal icing flowers on the bottom tier and the royal icing roses in the middles.I baked the cake and did the fillings and the creation of the other items like the whipped cream for frosting :)
This was the main DIY focus of the week. However I did manage to get some work in on my engagement party invitations on Sunday!
The stamps aren't a definite but the embossed blue strip and green ribbon are set. I punched the border on all 76 cards, trimmed the 76 inserts, and cut and embossed the strips and added the green ribbon. I also used Cricut Expressions to cut out hibiscus flowers. I cut them at 1.5" and got 49 flowers per 12x12 sheet of paper. Tonight I'll be finishing up with the ribbon and trimming the rough edges from the flowers I cut before I changed the pressure. And doing the Thank You tags for the favors. :)
